An Irrigator is a medical device used for rinsing cavities, wounds, or internal body spaces with sterile solutions such as normal saline, distilled water, or antiseptics.

Mechanism of Action:
The irrigator works by delivering a controlled flow of cleansing solution to the targeted area while simultaneously allowing drainage of the contaminated fluid. This process may be performed via gravity pressure, manual pressure, or a pump device.

- Continuous use without medical supervision may harm the body’s natural flora (especially in vaginal and ear irrigation)
